Minissha Lamba opens up on ‘Well done Abba’!

Minissha Lamba, last seen in the movie "Kidnap" is coming back in Shyam Benegal’s "Well Done Abba". In the movie Minissha plays a Muslim village girl speaking a south Indian dialect. Talking about the movie Minissha said "Well Done Abba is told in a very simple fun light hearted way. In any case, cinema is the reflection of society and in the same mould, this film too is quite tongue in cheek".

"Well Done Abba is extremely current and is set in today’s time. It is extremely relevant to what’s happening in the country today. So let’s not mistake it with something old." added Minissha to make it clear that the movie is set based on the current time period. The movie is set to release on March 26th.

Shruti Haasan to star with Siddharth in Disney’s Film

Shruti Haasan, after trying her "Luck" in Bollywood is now heading down South with a bang for a Telugu movie to be produced by Disney. Disney who earlier co-produced the Bollywood animation movie "Roadside Romeo" with this latest announcement is entering into the regional cinema too. Shruti will be starring opposite Siddharth in this yet to be titled movie slated for Jan 2011 release. The film will be a fantasy adventure set in the fictitious land of Sangarashtra where Siddharth will play the role of blind swordsman and Shruti as a gypsy girl. Disney will co-produce the movie with K.Raghavendra Rao and it will be directed by Prakash Rao Kovelamudi, the movie will also be dubbed in Tamil.

Also in the Top richest folks in Asia, according to the list published by Forbes 10 of them are from India, followed by Japan and Hongkong each of them have 5. Mukesh’s net worth is reported to be 29.0 billion USD and the world’s largest steel maker Lakshmi Mittal’s net worth is reported as 28.7 billion USD. Apart from these two the other Indians who made it to the top 50 list of World’s Billionaires include Azim Premji of Wipro with $17.0 bil at 28th spot, Anil Ambani of Reliance with $13.7 bil at 36th spot, Shashi & Ravi Ruia of Essar Group with $13.0 bil at 40th spot, Savitri Jindal of Jindal Group with $12.2 bil at 44th spot.

Mandira Bedi from SET to ITV!

Indian Television viewers will not be able to see Mandira Bedi anchoring the IPL shows but she will be presenting the matches live to UK viewers. Confirming the news Mandira in an interview said, "Yes, that’s true. A couple of weeks back, I was told that I wouldn’t be a part of the IPL presentation for SET Max. And then, I was approached to be a part of presenting the matches live to over 20 million viewers on ITV. I am leaving for London today. I return to India after the first 15 days of the tournament. I’ll spend the next 15 days in India and will be watching matches live in Kolkata and Delhi. I’ve been approached by Sony to be a special guest for some of their pre-shows during that period. Once that gets over, I’ll be returning to the UK for the rest of the tournament." She will be joining Matt Smith on ITV to present the coverage of IPL.

Nithyananda responds to his latest sex scandal!

Five days after the video clip of Nithyananda with actress Ranjitha were aired in the telivision, Nithyananda responds through a new video uploaded on his organiztion website. In the video he said, “Dear one and all. There have been many allegations against me and my organisations in recent days. But at the same time, I have received a flood of support from devotees and well-wishers and from worldwide, who have been benefited from my teachings over the years. They are all shocked to hear these allegations. I want to assure all of you that nothing illegal has been done by me or by any of my organisations. We are in the process of collecting evidence to establish the falsity and motive of the smear campaign that has been going on against me…I will address all the allegations and issue a detailed explanation. Meanwhile, I urge everyone not to rush to judgment before all the facts are put on the table and carefully examined.” He also added he had not committed anything illegal.

Meanwhile there are also reports that Ranjitha and Lenin Karuppa who released the video planned this together to trap Nithyananda and some other reports also indicate that the actress was attempting to suicide after these reports! However none of these news were confirmed!

Bipasha’s opening walk in Lakme Fashion Week!

Bollywood babe Bipasha Basu was shining and glowing at the ramp in a Yellow and Beige sari at the inaugural show of the Lakme Fashion Week 2010. She walked down the ramp for her close friend and designer Rocky S opening the five day event in Mumbai. "When I showed Bipasha the colour of the sari, she was apprehensive. But she trusts me completely. After it was draped on her, she just loved the colour, She tried a new colour today and she was looking beautiful in it," Rocky told IANS at the post show conference here.

Master Blaster Voted for Bharat Ratna

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, whose name has been suggested for the highest civilian award by Maharashtra Government has said that the ‘Bharat Ratna’ is every Indian’s dream.

The Maharashtra Government has asked the Centre to confer Tendulkar with the prestigious ‘Bharat Ratna’ for his contribution to the game and making the country proud.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has indicated that he has asked the Central Government to grant Sachin for the award, adding that his contribution to the game of cricket deserves the highest civilian award. We could not agree more.

A.R. Rahman having “Jai Ho” concerts in 16 world cities

Oscar winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) will be taking his “Jai Ho” concert worldwide, starting June 11 from New York (USA) and ending in London (United Kingdom) on July 26, according to reports.

During this period, he will reportedly have live concerts in USA, Canada, Netherlands, France, Norway, and United Kingdom; covering the cities of New York, Atlantic City, Washington DC, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Amsterdam, Paris, Oslo, Glasgow, Manchester, and London. More concerts of this world tour will be announced in the future.

Well known choreographer-director Amy Tinkham, who has worked on the concerts of the likes of Paul McCartney, Madonna, Britney Spears, Dixie Chicks, Motley Crue, etc., will reportedly be associated with Rahman’s concerts, which are said to include acrobatics, new technologies, fascinating dance arrangements, changing sets, LED screens, and global cast of dancers and musicians. Dharmendra & Hema to relaunch Esha!

Esha Deol will team up with her dad "Dharmendra" and mom "Hema Malini" in "Tell Me Oh Khuda", produced by Hema Malini. Dharmendra who has kept himself away from publicly acknowledging his second family that is wife Hema Malini and daughters Esha and Ahana has agreed to play Esha’s father in the movie. It is said that Dharmendra who had earlier tried to re-launch the careers of his sons from his first marriage, Sunny and Bobby Deol in Anil Sharma’s ‘Apne’ and now trying to help out his daughter. In the movie the story of Esha’s character revolves around the search of her biological parents.
