3 Idiots won the highest number of awards at the 55th Filmfare Awards, they bagged 6 awards including best movie, best director. While 3 idiots won 6 awards, Amitabh bagged the award for the best actor and Vidya for the best actress for the movie Paa. The other movie that made it big by winning 6 different awards at the even is Dev D. On the stage SRK and Saif took the house down with their one liners by hosting the event.

As per the latest reports, the Bachchan Family will not be seen at the filmfare awards over the article that has appeared about Aishwarya Rai’s health in Mumbai Mirror. The Mumbai Mirror and Filmfare both belong to the Times Group. Bachchans are requesting a publick apology from the tabloid, and since The Mumbai Mirror and Filmfare both belong to the Times Group the Bachchans decided to pull out of the show. Aishwarya Rai, who was supposed to seen on the stage performing at the event will now be missing. Amitabh posted the message "We have informed Filmfare that neither will Aishwarya be performing at the event, for which all preparations had been made and neither shall any of us be attending," in his blog.

The 55th Idea Filmfare Awards, has just started with Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan scheduled to host the event. Bollywood stars & celebrities walked down the red carpet at Yash Raj Studio. While SRK and Saif most likely will bring the house down with their jokes, Shahid Kapoor will be dancing as a tribute to Michael Jackson. Some of the early folks to arrive at the venue include Riteish Desumukh, Divya Dutta(nominated in the Best Supporting Actress Category for Delhi-6), Kaveeta Seth (Best playback singer nomination for the song Iktara from Wake Up Sid), Imtiaz Ali (nominated in the Best Director category for Love Aaj Kal), Deepika Padukone, Celina Jaitley, Sameera Reddy, Minissha Lamba, Dino Morea, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Shruti Haasan, Sherlyn Chopra, Boman Irani(nominated for best supporting character for 3 idiots), Raju Hirani, Tabu, Harman Baweja, Urmila and Oscar winner Mastero A.R.Rahman!
