Vivek Wadhwa & Michael Barker Join TiE SoCal

Join TiE SoCal for the second monthly event of the year, featuring Harvard Law School Research Scholar Vivek Wadhwa and Managing Director of Revolution Partners, Michael Barker at the Sheraton Hotel in Cerritos.
Mr. Wadhwa is a technology entrepreneur and a columnist for BusinessWeek.com, and has been named a "Leader of Tomorrow" by Forbes.com. His company Relativity Technologies was named as one of the 25 "coolest" companies in the world by Fortune Magazine. Mr. Wadhwa will be speaking on the topic: "Facts and Myths in the Globalization Debate: How Our National Policies are often Misguided and How the United States Can Continue to Keep Its Global Edge."

Also featuring Mr. Barker, who prior to joining Revolution Partners, was at IBM as a result of its $200 million acquisition of Trigo Technologies, the product information management company that he helped build to profitability, 150 employees and a $40+ million run-rate.

Mr. Barker was formerly in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice of the CSFB Technology Group and has experience in virtually all IT sectors. He has executed numerous mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry during his career, including the $3.4 billion sale of PLATINUM to Computer Associates, the largest software acquisition in history at the time.
